History
The Valicon company continues the ten year marketing research tradition of CATI d.o.o. of Ljubljana.

CATI d.o.o., Ljubljana
The CATI company was founded in 1996 by three students of Social Informatics from Ljubljana’s Faculty of Social Sciences. The company was first named CATI center, as it was the first commercial CATI studio (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing center) in Slovenia, and its primary activity was gathering data.
Already in 1998 CATI upgraded its services and developed into a research company with a wideranging palette of services. In 1999 we launched the Daily CATI Omnibus (DCO) – a daily telephone poll, the first of its kind in Europe, and still running today.
In 2001 the company was renamed CATI d.o.o. In the same year it was chosen to carry out the National Readership Research. We were selected for the same task again in 2005 for the period 2006 – 2008.
Year 2004 represents a new milestone in the development of CATI, characterized by geographic and service expansion. We began carrying out the largest syndicated research in the region, the Product Group Manager (PGM). Two new companies were founded, PGM Consult in Belgrade and Manager in Banja Luka. Uroš Cvetko, formerly a consultant at McKinsey & Company, took over leadership of the company. With his arrival at CATI we began with consulting on the basis of market research.
In 2005 CATI became the leading market research company in Slovenia, a position it has held since. That year we opened a call center in Maribor and a year later, in 2006, our Sarajevo branch office opened.
